My name is Suzanne Lamontagne. I have always had an interest in birth/babies/and helping people. I babysat at a very young age and always wanted to work with children. My interest started to be very apparent at 17 years old when I had my first child by emergency c-section, which may have been preventable but no one was listening to me due to my age. I wish I had known then about having a doula. I wasn't allowed to VBAC with my second daughter and was told I needed a planned c-section. There wasn't a lot of information provided to me about my options since I didn't know it was something I could insist on trying. So, inevitabley my third child was also another c-section. I went into nursing to help and educate people so that they can receive the healthcare that they deserve. I knew that I could make a positive difference by becoming a nurse. So while being a mother of 2 young children I went to nursing school. I have been a registered nurse for 15+ year and a mother for over 22 years now. That makes for a lot of experience and knowledge built up about pregnancy/delivery/ infant care/breast feeding. I would love to be able to give that knowledge to others.
I can't wait to help everyone I work with to figure out what their "dream delivery" looks like and to be able to help in all ways that I have been trained to support, advocate, educate and make that dream a reality with you.
