Meg is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist that specializes in postpartum care. She believes that by blending traditional ways with modern-day science, we can create a postpartum that ... morehonors the individual’s path to wellness. Meg is the founder of Small Batch Wellness, Purposeful Nourishment, and The Postpartum Kitchen. She had been nourishing new families locally and virtually since 2015 working to meet the ever changing needs of modern day families.

She offers private postpartum Nourishment + Nutrition Sessions for Flourish Fund families as well as Nourishment Gift Boxes geared towards fueling the postpartum body.

My approach + promise to you:

My approach is flexible, versatile and anti inflammatory. I believe that we can blend traditional ways with evidenced-based science to create a postpartum that honors the individual’s path to wellness. In general, my approach is food and plant medicine first before discussing supplements. While I do make recommendations for supplements, I do not sell supplements.

Your lived experience matters.

I do not come into these meetings with my agenda, protocol, or set of supplements. Normal bodies don't spring back - normal bodies take time to heal. Normal healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes. Autonomy is important in all things. Restrictive eating &/or shame around eating often takes a front seat in the postpartum. We don't need to take on more stuff and adding fear to food is the LAST thing anyone needs to take on.

Topics we might cover:

Pillars of Care, Rituals of Care, Universal Needs for Healing
Discuss changes in the body that make the early postpartum days unique.
How to build blood, balance hormones, and fortify the microbiome
Foods to favor + Foods to limit or avoid
Ideal First Foods after Delivery
Planning nourishment for the hospital
Postpartum Lab Work
Breastfeeding + Extended Breastfeeding
Adrenal Insufficiency
Postnatal Depletion Spectrum
Troubleshoot ongoing challenges like low energy, sleep deprivation, mood swings, cravings
Identify recipes that will work best for you and your postpartum body.
Create a Nourishment Plan
Preparing Your Postpartum Kitchen
Enlisting Help in the Postpartum
Determine if supplements are right for you.
If needed, referrals to fellow practitioners

How it works:

We have a quick, non-committal chat to get to know each other a bit. During this chat we will discuss you, your pregnancy and postpartum, as well as your hopes and needs around nutrition and nourishment. We will also discuss and make an estimate of the number of sessions recommended. I offer single sessions and package options depending on your needs.

Single Session:
One single session is a great way to get a deeper understanding of the postpartum body and how to nourish and replete it. We touch on many subjects for about 90 minutes. You’ll also receive Beyond Bone Broth: Essential Recipes for the Early Postpartum.

Follow Up Sessions:
One single session can easily turn into multiple sessions. These sessions tend to be about 45-60 minutes where we address ongoing concerns and cover a lot of ground. The changes in the postpartum can be profound and we often need to adapt our plans to ensure you are receiving the robust care you deserve.

As the founder of Laura Mahoney Fitness, I am dedicated to the health and wellness of each and every person I work with. I transformed my own body since the beginning of my fitness ... morejourney. I grew up overweight and unhealthy, and slowly learned the ins and outs of what it takes to be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a bunch of ups and downs along the way.

I train others with a strength based emphasis because I truly believe it transforms your body and mind. I competed in two powerlifting competitions (and won both!), and became stronger than I ever thought I would, transformed my body and physique beyond what I could have imagined, and truly became a more confident person. I want others to believe in themselves the way strength training taught me to believe in myself.

Over the course of own my pregnancy, I learned how to be more empowered than ever before and made it my mission to help others to feel the same. I believe that every pregnant and post partum woman should feel confident in their own skin, feel STRONG, and feel empowered.

It took me nearly nine months to dig myself out and support my whole mind, body and soul after my second child came into the world. My story is not a unique one. What I will say is ... morethat I came out on the other side.

I see you working mom.

I offer 1-1 coaching and group programming for working moms with young children. I have two beautiful girls, 4 and almost 2. Prior to my lay off, I was on the hamster wheel and went through a very difficult postpartum period. I was extremely stressed, anxious and not living in alignment or the best version of myself. I thought if I kept working harder, was more productive and kept checking things off the list, I would somehow get better. It led to the opposite. Burnout and hitting rock bottom. My goal is to provide more foundational support systems so you can tackle each step of motherhood with a bit more grace, self compassion and open heart. It’s like having a guided night light and mom mentor as you slog through the sleep deprivation periods.

My services are unique in that I am using my first hand experience as a young working parent to support you with grounded support, coordinated resources (when you need it) and empathy as you welcome your baby into the world and grow your family. You will meet the moment where you are and find your next step in a way that is authentic to you.

💓This coaching business is personal and yet I feel it deals with us as a collective. We are all working moms.
💓We are looking to change the tides.
💓We need women.
💓We need them to rise.
💓Wherever we add love and support grows for each of us to be our best selves.

Let this be the Motherhood invitation that helps you grow and thrive, I look forward to meeting you!
