This class runs Wednesday's from 7pm-9pm for 4 weeks on Zoom. GentleBirth Workshops provide expectant people and partners easy to learn brain training techniques including Mindfulness, ... moreCBT and the neuroscience around pain, Sports Psychology, Medical Hypnosis and the physiology of birth, along with tools, information and techniques to prepare for the most positive birth possible. Unlike hospital workshops I will ensure you understand your options for navigating your birth preferences in the hospital system. Most importantly, we will be learning all advanced comfort measures, like birth ball, TENS, acupressure and more in order to have a full toolkit of comfort strategies.

Dress comfortably to Zoom, as we will be trying a lot of these comfort measures. If you have an exercise ball, massage tools, a rolling pin, and a long non-stretchy scarf we will need those for certain sessions. Enrollment includes the live Zoom 4 week class, access to additional online educational materials and 30 days app access.

Being in community is vital to every human’s health, and only more so during the childbearing years and during times of great stress. The first half-hour of each class is a time to ... moresay hello, share questions and resources, and to laugh and cry at the glories and hardships in life. During this time, teachers will facilitate discussions on a variety of pregnancy, birth, and parenting topics. While we make it available to join classes after the first 30 min is over, we highly recommend you join us here, in community. Next, begin a yoga practice of gentle strengthening, stretching, breath exercises, and meditation for a time to connect to your changing body, and prepare for the powerful experience of childbirth and mothering. Special emphasis is placed on building pelvic floor and core strength to support the body, and on connecting deeply with baby.

Open to all levels; modifications for individual fitness level and trimester are provided and no experience is necessary. Taught by highly trained and experienced practitioners.

Learn about the physiological process of childbirth in a manner that empowers you to welcome your baby into the world in the most gentle and loving way. An unmedicated birth enhances ... morenatural oxytocin to both mom and baby allowing for better breastfeeding rates, less complications, faster recovery and better bonding. This class focuses on seeing birth as a normal process, however we support all types of birth and also cover all possible interventions and pain relief options.
Taught by Lamaze-Certified Childbirth Educator and doula Jocelyn Albertson. This class will be taught virtually via Zoom.
This class is designed around Lamaze's 6 Healthy Birth Practices, which are:
- let labor begin on its own
- walk, move around and change positions throughout labor
- bring a support person/team for continuous support
-avoid interventions that are not medically necessary
-avoid giving birth on your back and follow your body's urge to push
-keep mama and baby together, it's best for mom, babe and breastfeeding
I believe that knowledge is power and so many birthing people and their partners find it easier to maneuver through the birth process if they know what to expect and why things happen, whether it be physiological or hospital procedures.
This is a two-day class on January 9th and 16th, 2021 from 10am-1pm. This class is for birthing couples planning on delivering in a home or hospital setting. Please dress comfortably and be prepared to practice position changes as well as relaxation/breathing techniques. Cost is $250 for the series.
